Minister of Petroleum Karim Badawi said that contracts for crude oil shipments are proceeding according to well-defined schedules, ensuring a steady flow of supplies, according to a government statement issued today.

During a meeting of the Central Crisis Management Committee at the Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, the minister reviewed the status of agreements signed to secure crude shipments from abroad.

Badawi noted that government measures to rationalize petroleum product consumption have contributed to reducing the financial allocations needed for crude procurement since the policy was implemented.

He added that coordinated efforts with various state bodies have helped regulate average monthly diesel consumption across governorates.

The minister also pointed to savings achieved through the decision to postpone the implementation of several national projects for three months, a move aimed at improving public spending efficiency and redirecting resources toward urgent priorities.

Meanwhile, Minister of Electricity Mahmoud Essmat emphasized that all measures currently being taken are intended to secure electricity supply and ensure uninterrupted power availability for all uses.

Essmat explained that the electricity sector has recently focused on adjusting operational patterns, reducing reliance on conventional fuels, and improving performance rates and energy efficiency.
