Egypt’s Nuclear Power Plants Authority hosted a high-level technical delegation from the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) Moscow Center as part of efforts to strengthen international cooperation and support the implementation of the El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant project.
Egypt’s Nuclear Power Plants Authority hosted a high-level technical delegation from the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) Moscow Center during an official working visit to Egypt from May 11 to 13, 2026.
The meetings took place at the authority’s headquarters in Cairo and focused on strengthening technical and institutional cooperation, while enhancing communication with international organizations specializing in nuclear safety and operational excellence.
The discussions form part of Egypt’s broader efforts to align its nuclear energy sector with international standards and benefit from global expertise in nuclear operations and safety management.
The visit included a series of specialized technical sessions covering WANO’s charter and governance framework, technical review and evaluation programs based on international standards, performance analysis mechanisms, mutual support programs, training initiatives, and institutional communication systems.
According to the authority, the discussions aimed to support the continued improvement of institutional and operational efficiency within Egypt’s nuclear energy sector.
